This Day In History
Former American senator, Robert Kennedy had once rightly said, “Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total; of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.” Despite having earned a negative reputation as a school subject, history can actually be quite spellbinding. Each day has had its own share of upheavals, right from the aftermath of natural disasters to the repercussions of an administrative decision. In the course of the years that have passed numerous wars have been waged ending in victory for some and devastation for others. Individual actions too have often had mammoth consequences, making or breaking the lives of those involved. Literature, sports, politics, science, technology, art and entertainment—nothing has ever remained the same. Each event that has taken place on each day, has swept the world off its feet. The deeds of our ancestors have shaped our present and future, thus making these historical facts and incidents indispensable. They prove each day the undeniable reality that even the most seemingly insignificant happenings can alter everything we live for.
